When he first emerged in the sport, his unique throwing technique sparked the interest of many fans.

Rather than standing directly in the center of the oche, Bunting chooses to stand slightly to the right, delivering his throws from an unusual angle.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Bunting explained that this practice originated from his childhood, when the dart board was improperly aligned.

He shared: “This habit began in my youth. I would practice at home, and my dad hung the board on the wall, but it was off-center.

Therefore, I consistently threw from the right side of the board, and that practice just stuck with me.

“When I started playing on actual pub boards, it felt completely natural for me to stay in that position since that’s how I had practiced.”

Bunting is preparing to face Luke Littler in the semi-finals of the World Championship this evening.

He secured his spot in the semifinals after defeating Peter Wright on Wednesday.

After his triumph, Bunting commented: “I felt quite anxious backstage. Peter Wright is a wonderful friend of mine and also my son’s favorite player, so I felt for him.

“I was aware that the crowd could alter the momentum. I’m extremely excited to have made it through. For the first four sets, the crowd was fantastic, but they could have been even better!

“I maintained control throughout the game, even when Peter made a comeback, reminding myself to ‘refocus and not let this slip away.’ I tackle each match with focus on one opponent.

“I hope I won’t feel that nervous again. Once more, the crowd was unbelievable. Let’s go Bunting Mental!

“I practiced with Luke Humphries three or four months back, and it has genuinely paid off, providing me the chance to compete against the world’s top players.”
