A DOG made an appearance on the field just before the kick-off of the match between Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient.
The League One game faced a possible delay as officials worked to escort the lively four-legged intruder off the pitch.
The crowd burst into cheers, chanting: “Sign him up! Sign him up! Sign him up!”
Fans relished the surprise moment and expressed their amusing thoughts.
One said: “He should get a stadium ban.”
Another joked: “Football welcomes everyone, fantastic to see the dogs getting involved as well.”
Sadly for Rovers, the canine cameo didn’t alter their luck, as they elongated their home winless streak to five matches.
Orient took an early lead when Ethan Galbraith found the target with a shot from long range.
The Rovers managed to equalize from the penalty spot, but two additional goals from the visitors just before halftime put them in the lead.

Chris Martin scored to pull one back for Rovers, who believed they had levelled the score in a bizarre twist when the ball hit the crossbar twice before being bundled in by Gatlin O’Donkor, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Rovers are now sitting just one spot and two points above the relegation zone, while Orient is gaining ground on the play-offs after winning six out of their last seven league matches.
