Alexander-Arnold has been part of Liverpool since 2006, developing through the youth system.

If he fails to sign a new contract, he may leave on a free transfer this summer.

At 26 years old, he has not yet revealed whether he plans to depart from his childhood club for a new challenge.

Nonetheless, this hasn’t stopped Madrid from pursuing the England international for an unexpected transfer in January.

Reports indicate that the inquiry made by Real for Alexander-Arnold was characterized as a “club-to-club inquiry rather than a formal offer,” as stated by the Daily Mail.

Liverpool promptly dismissed the proposal, reaffirming their “desire” to keep Trent.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to recruit a new right-back to bolster his injury-plagued squad.

With Dani Carvajal likely sidelined for the remainder of the season, the current La Liga champions find themselves just one point behind rivals Atletico at the top of the standings.

In recent years, Madrid has actively targeted free agents, presenting lucrative contracts to lure players to the Bernabeu.

David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger  and recently Kylian Mbappe exemplify this recruitment strategy.

This week, Spanish outlets reported that Real is optimistic that Alexander-Arnold may join them at the end of the season.

Hoping to finalize a deal in January to address their injury woes, they recognize that they might have to settle for a summer transfer if necessary.

Since his debut almost a decade ago, Alexander-Arnold has made 332 appearances for Liverpool.

He has clinched the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Club World Cup during his tenure at the club.

Liverpool, currently leading the Premier League title race, may also face potential losses of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk to free transfers this summer.

Both players’ contracts are set to expire in May, and neither has yet finalized a new agreement.
