BURNLEY has completed the acquisition of defender Oliver Sonne from the Danish side Silkeborg.
The right-back hailing from Peru becomes the first signing for Clarets manager Scott Parker during the January transfer window, putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Sonne, 24, is the nephew of the iconic supermodel Helena Christensen and has appeared in over 100 matches in Denmark’s top league.
Upon the announcement on New Year’s Eve, he expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m incredibly excited!
“Experiencing the club and its facilities is simply amazing.
“This club has grand ambitions, with the goal of returning to the Premier League, and I will do everything in my power to assist in achieving that.”
Christensen, 56, was crowned Miss Universe Denmark in 1986 and represented her country at the Miss Universe pageant.
She later embarked on a successful modeling career, featuring on the covers of magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Tatler.

Furthermore, she served as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
Helena was among the famed Magnificent Seven alongside Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Elle McPherson during the mid-1990s.
Sonne has also dabbled in the modeling industry, following in his aunt’s footsteps, having collaborated with brands like Gucci and Armani.
He stated, “There was a period when I did quite a bit of modeling.
“I had fantastic opportunities abroad with many top brands that resonate among young audiences. It was a great experience to explore that side of my career.”
Sonne joins Burnley while the club is positioned third in the Championship, just three points behind Sheffield United for the second promotion spot.
Parker’s squad is determined to make an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season.
