Numerous fans were sure that the smiling England player jovially joined in on the taunts directed at the Toon icon and BBC commentator, who holds the record for the most goals in Premier League history.

Bellingham, 21, seemed to humorously mumble along to parts of a chant that commonly features the harmless line “he wears a magic hat”.

The modified rendition, cleverly changed by Sunderland fans, included: “Shearer is a w****r”.

Bellingham was spotted swaying to the beat while on his holiday, as Real Madrid won’t be back in action until January 6.

Supporters of Sunderland appeared to be excited by his show of support for Jobe, no matter how it was expressed.

One fan reacted to a video of the incident by stating it was “not something I expected to witness this Christmas. But here we are. Legend!”

Other encouraging remarks included “Can’t love the guy any more if I tried” and “Oh I love you Jude”.
