The 27-year-old Manchester native has addressed his past absences, stating he’s prepared for a “new challenge.”

Amorim hinted that a departure from Old Trafford could be increasingly probable for the long-serving United player, revealing his thoughts after Thursday’s loss.

The Portuguese coach commented: “Any updates on Rashford’s situation? If he’s not here… you can draw your own conclusions.”

The 10-man Red Devils slipped to 14th place following yet another failure from a set-piece.

Amorim remarked: “It’s always the same issue. We must uphold professionalism, regardless of whether we win or lose. Losing makes me strive to be even stronger. I will adhere to my principles until the very end.”

Prior to the match, Amorim confirmed Rashford’s desire to reclaim his place in the faltering United team.

He stated: “This is my decision. He wants to play. He’s making an effort. Yes, this is entirely my choice.”

“I’ve had individual discussions with many players during training, and I’m focused on executing my plan. That’s the only way I know how.”

“If I deviate from this course, I risk losing my way, and that’s not going to happen. I am clear about my actions.”

Rashford appears to have come to terms with the possibility of needing to move on to revive his career.

He conveyed to reporter Henry Winter: ” Personally, I believe I’m ready for a new challenge and the next phase.”

Nonetheless, he added: “When I leave, there will be ‘no hard feelings’.”

“You won’t hear any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s just my character.”

“If I recognize that a situation is already tense, I won’t make it worse.”

“I’ve seen how other players have left in the past, and I don’t want to be one of them.”

“When I depart, I will make a statement, and it will come from me.”

Despite the speculation, Rashford has not hesitated to share a joyful family photo while celebrating Christmas Eve.

The response from fans was positive to his cheerful snapshot from what appears to be a pub or restaurant, featuring menus laid out for the 18 people present.

Rashford captioned the moment: “Family time – Happy Christmas everyone 🎄.”

Supporters commented: “We love you Rashy ❤️.” and “Merry Christmas, GOAT ❤️.”
