Saka suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of Saturday’s 5-1 triumph over Crystal Palace.

Manager Mikel Arteta mentioned on Monday that Saka, 23, will be unavailable for “several weeks”—suggesting the winger may miss a significant portion of the season.

Arteta remarked: “It’s not looking promising. He will be out for several weeks.”

“I can’t provide specific details since I’m uncertain — but it seems to be a prolonged absence.”

“The sample size in this case is limited, as he hasn’t had many previous issues.”

“However, based on how he recovers from game to game, we can stay optimistic that we may shorten that duration.”

Arsenal is currently placed third in the Premier League, trailing leaders Liverpool by six points, with one more match played.

The Gunners have 15 matches scheduled across all competitions before February 25—beginning with a home match against Ipswich on Friday.

This figure does not account for the possibility of Arteta’s squad, currently involved in four competitions, advancing in cup tournaments.

Arteta will only consider the transfer market for a replacement for Saka if “something extraordinary” becomes available in the upcoming window.

Significant setback for Arsenal as Bukayo Saka faces ‘many weeks’ sidelined due to injury

He added: “My focus is strictly on the current squad—on the resources we have to stay competitive.”

“We have plenty of options at our disposal. However, if something remarkable comes up, and the club is ready to act, we will need to assess the situation.”

England international Saka departed Selhurst Park on crutches.

Arteta shared that the England star, who has scored nine goals and provided ten assists this season, was deeply affected by the injury.

The Spaniard remarked: “He is heartbroken. It’s evident he hasn’t dealt with an injury of this nature before, as he was visibly emotional and down. We must support him.”

Raheem Sterling is a potential replacement on the right wing, but the Chelsea loanee is nursing a knee injury sustained during training.

Arteta concluded: “He’ll be out for several weeks, but we need further evaluations.”
