DAVE CHISNALL has been eliminated from the World Darts Championship after an exhilarating match against Ricky Evans.
The world No. 6, who was a runner-up at Ally Pally back in 2010, was expected to outshine his opponent during the darts contest on Monday night.
Nevertheless, Chisnall was unable to convert a crucial match dart, allowing Evans, who is ranked No. 45 in the world, to sneak away with victory in a tense sudden death leg.
With the match tied at 2-2, both competitors showcased remarkable throws that kept the crowd intensely invested.
The pressure mounted on Chisnall, the 13th seed, who miscalculated his finish, opening the door for Evans to take the win.
‘Rapid’ seized the opportunity, securing the final leg 6-5.
Post-match, Evans shared his disbelief and excitement about the result as he looks ahead to facing Welsh player Robert Owen.
Identifying himself as a “quirky lad from Kettering,” he beamed and remarked: “I went up against a world-class player, and I actually performed well this time – it’s typically not exciting, just monotonous.”
“Look at me, I’m just a unique guy from Kettering; I can’t comprehend why the audience backs me.”
“Honestly, I wished I could have defeated Chizzy 3-0; that would have been easier on my heart.”

“What am I meant to do for the other eleven months of the year?”
“I don’t get this kind of reception back home; it baffles me!”
“The cheers kept intensifying; I couldn’t grasp why they were applauding me.”
“Thank you, everyone; you’ve made a hefty fellow really happy!”
He wrapped up with a festive cheer to his supporters: “Merry Christmas, you wonderful oddballs!”
