RONNIE O’SULLIVAN has revealed his two ambitions for 2025, although he admits he “doesn’t really have a New Year’s resolution.”
The Rocket plans to celebrate Christmas in Asia as he participates in a series of high-paying exhibitions.
His next competitive encounter will be against longtime adversary John Higgins in the first round of the Masters on Sunday, January 12.
The seven-time world champion admits he will encounter jet lag before returning to Ally Pally, a venue he has previously criticized for its backstage facilities.
He recognizes that this is not an ideal way to prepare for his title defense at the Masters following such extensive travel.
Nonetheless, O’Sullivan has already set two targets for the upcoming year.
This is despite the absence of any specific resolutions for 2025.
O’Sullivan noted: “I will return to the UK around January 3 or 4,
“I’d been in Saudi Arabia. Then I’ll be in Macau for a week, followed by 3-4 days in China before heading home. It’s probably not the best situation.
“Before the last Masters, I performed exceptionally well, securing wins at the Shanghai Masters and the UK Championship after playing numerous matches.

“However, currently, I have played very few competitive matches since August. It is what it is.
“Looking at the long term, it might not happen this year or next.
“I simply want to keep playing, enjoy it, have fun, and see how things unfold.
“I don’t actually have a New Year’s resolution. Maybe it’s just to stay healthy and happy, I guess.
“I go to the gym frequently. I hadn’t run in a year, but I started running a few months ago since my knees were a bit worn.
“So now I’m mixing in some running, lots of gym sessions, and staying fit, as I think it’s good for my mindset and overall health.”
