LEWIS HAMILTON is in the process of learning Italian as he prepares for his move to Ferrari.
The F1 champion is set to join the Italian team for the 2025 season, signaling the conclusion of his remarkable career with Mercedes.
Hamilton, 39, has agreed to a two-year contract with Ferrari worth £100million.
To finalize his departure, the team invoked a clause in his Mercedes contract, bringing an end to his 11-year tenure.
Before officially joining Ferrari, the British driver is dedicated to mastering Italian to aid his transition to the new team.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has emphasized that for the seven-time World Champion to successfully “integrate”, learning the language is essential.
According to Autoracer, he expressed: “He will attract substantial interest.
“He is actively working on his Italian and is eager to understand our culture.
“I informed him that this was also vital for him. At Ferrari, he will experience a different environment compared to what he’s used to.”
Once he officially starts with Ferrari, Hamilton will be teamed up with Charles Leclerc.
He will be the third driver to partner the Monégasque racer, following Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz.

Domenicali added that both drivers appreciate and respect each other.
He noted: “Charles will naturally have to face the challenges of being teammates with someone of Lewis’ caliber.
“Lewis certainly has the capability to share his positive energy to pursue his record.
“They have a robust mutual respect, and I hope that continues through the end of the season.”
Reports suggest that Hamilton has been granted permission to live in the former residence of Enzo Ferrari during his time in Maranello, Italy.
Earlier this month, Ferrari was encouraged by former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan to terminate Hamilton’s contract.
Jordan’s suggestion came after Hamilton openly stated that he was “not fast anymore”.
