OLEKSANDR USYK emerged victorious once more, this time in a controversial unanimous decision against Tyson Fury, thereby reclaiming his heavyweight title.

Following their electrifying split decision seven months ago, the judges this time scored it 116-112, all in Usyk’s favor.

The Gypsy King left the ring in a fury, leaving promoter Frank Warren stunned by the outcome.

Here’s how SunSport’s Wally Downes assessed the fight…

Round 1

Rules were disregarded as Fury made his entrance at 11:15 PM local time, sporting a beard that would make even Brian Blessed envious.

If his beard was surprising, then the sight of his bare torso captured on camera in the dressing room was shocking.

His red shorts were pulled up so high that they mostly obscured his belly; just an inch higher, and the 20st behemoth might have been able to tuck his nipples in there too.

Fury tried to intimidate Usyk at the final face-off, widening his eyes like a monster, but the champion remained composed.

They exchanged jabs and feigned with their lead hands, with Usyk landing left punches on Fury’s quaking abdomen, followed by a head strike to secure the first round. Usyk.

Round 2

Usyk initiated the round with a scoring combination to the head right after the bell, followed by more body shots, one of which caused Fury to stumble.

However, the Gypsy King retaliated with a series of jabs and a strong right hand, claiming the round.

No signs of the body shots and uppercuts that had helped Fury in the middle rounds of their May bout were evident. Fury

Round 3

Usyk landed three body jabs followed by a left hand to the head.

Fury found it hard to handle the pressure, managing only a check hook and even trying out a southpaw stance.

However, all his threats toward the champion turned out to be ineffectual. Usyk.

Round 4

Fury began the round with a sharp right hand.

Usyk responded effectively with two clean left hands.

Fury countered with a strong right that forced Usyk back.

An uppercut then pierced through Usyk’s guard. Draw.

Round 5

Fury seized control early with a solid right hand to begin the round.

He was warned for throwing illegal punches as he attempted to overpower the champion.

Usyk was hit by a lead left uppercut and began taking body shots, which forced him to retreat. Fury.

Round 6

Fury seemed to be in trouble. The challenger’s heavy frame began to perspire, tempting Usyk to target it with powerful left punches.

Usyk then aimed for head shots, landing one that rocked Fury.

The Morecambe giant appeared dazed and cautious, just trying to survive the round. Usyk.

Round 7

A relatively quiet round featured a crisp one-two from Fury and a single left from Usyk. Draw.

Round 8

A one-two-hook combination worked well for Usyk as he continued to apply relentless pressure while Fury tried to conceal his heavyweight frame.

Fortunately, an accidental head clash resulted in no cuts.

Fury’s attacks were lackluster, leading Usyk to smile and shake his head in response. Usyk.

Round 9

Fury started to show signs of exhaustion, weighed down by his bulk, while Usyk skillfully landed effective punches.

Fury struggled to keep pace, unable to dance or counter effectively. He was playing right into Usyk’s game. Usyk.

Round 10

Fury managed to land a rare uppercut and aimed for Usyk’s body while taking center ring, but he quickly absorbed a couple of punches in return.

Fury attempted to hold on and sap Usyk’s energy, but was met with a painful left to the cheek.

A significant left from Usyk sent beads of sweat flying off Fury’s head. Although Fury responded with an uppercut, Usyk’s relentless attack proved to be far superior. Usyk.

Round 11

These rounds could be pivotal. Usyk maintained a busy pace while Fury threw an uppercut that barely grazed Usyk’s guard.

Fury walked into a swift combination followed by two solid hits, clearly struggling under Usyk’s incessant pressure.

Usyk remained tireless, bouncing, prodding, and punching while the 20st Fury showed signs of weariness. Usyk.

Round 12

Fury began as if he understood he needed at least one round to secure a draw, but this opened opportunities for Usyk to counter.

A sequence of three straight punches found their mark for the Ukrainian star.

Fury kept swinging and pulling up his shorts, becoming progressively desperate as sweat poured down from Usyk’s onslaught.

With part of the ungrateful crowd booing and whistling, both fighters engaged in a fierce exchange in the final seconds. Usyk.

SunSport’s scorecards: Usyk 118-112 Fury.
