LENNOX LEWIS has encouraged Tyson Fury to fight Anthony Joshua next, particularly after Fury’s recent disappointing defeat against Oleksandr Usyk.

In May, Usyk made history by becoming the first boxer to defeat Fury, achieving a stunning split-decision victory in Saudi Arabia.

In a tightly contested rematch in Riyadh, the Ukrainian won via a 116-112 unanimous decision, with Fury only receiving four rounds in his favor.

After Usyk’s consecutive victories and his plans for a rematch with Daniel Dubois, the iconic Lewis has proposed that 35-year-old AJ should take on Fury.

He mentioned to TNT Sports: “He goes to London, the biggest fight in history, maybe Anthony Joshua.”

Upon hearing the outcome, Fury stormed out of the ring, leading to questions surrounding his future, which now rests with promoter Frank Warren.

Warren expressed his uncertainty: “I’m unsure; he is very downhearted, just as I am.

“I’m not biased; it appeared that everyone present felt the same way.”

When inquired about Fury’s possible return to the ring, Warren remarked: “That’s up to him.

“It’s premature; the emotions are running high right after a fight. We’ll see. It’s baffling. Could you really say he only won four out of eight rounds?”

Dubois, 27, confronted Usyk, 37, with anger following his earlier defeat to him in 2023 that ended in a controversial low blow.

Lewis commented, “He could retire if he wishes. He can do whatever he desires; he is the champion.

“I’d rather not declare that a rematch is guaranteed and then have it not happen.”
