OLEKSANDR USYK emerged victorious once again, securing a controversial decision over Tyson Fury to reclaim his heavyweight championship.

Following their split-decision fight seven months earlier, the judges unanimously scored this bout 116-112, all in favor of Usyk.

The Gypsy King left the ring in a fit of anger, leaving his promoter Frank Warren visibly stunned by the outcome.

Here’s how SunSport’s Wally Downes evaluated the fight…

Round 1

Ignoring the guidelines, Fury made his entrance at 11:15 PM local time sporting an impressive beard, rivaling even Brian Blessed.

While his facial hair was striking, the sight of his belly captured in the dressing room was even more remarkable.

His high red shorts concealed much of his midsection; a bit higher, and the 20-stone giant could’ve tucked in his nipples as well.

In their final stare-down, Fury tried to intimidate Usyk with wide eyes like a monster, but the champion remained unfazed.

They exchanged jabs, probing each other with their lead hands. Usyk landed several lefts into Fury’s soft belly before catching him with a head shot, taking the first round. Usyk.

Round 2

Usyk opened strong with a solid one-two to the head, then shifted focus to the body, landing lefts that caused Fury to stumble.

However, the Gypsy King answered back with a quick jab followed by a powerful right hand to claim the round.

Still, there were no signs of the body punches and uppercuts that had aided his performance in mid-rounds during their May fight. Fury.

Round 3

Usyk landed three body jabs followed by a left to the head.

Fury struggled under the pressure, managing a small check hook and even switching to a southpaw stance.

Nevertheless, his threats to pummel the “bog-eyed rat” proved to be empty. Usyk.

Round 4

Fury started strong with a chopping right hand.

However, Usyk countered with two well-placed lefts that scored notably.

Fury retaliated with a strong right hand that sent Usyk back.

Then, an uppercut sliced through Usyk’s guard. Draw.

Round 5

Fury asserted himself with a solid right hand at the round’s outset.

He soon received a warning for rabbit punches as he aimed to overpower the champ.

Usyk suffered from a lead left uppercut and began taking body shots, which made him retreat. Fury.

Round 6

Fury looked troubled as his hefty frame began to perspire. Usyk consistently targeted it with powerful left punches.

Then, Usyk switched to head shots, catching Fury on the cranium.

The Morecambe giant seemed shaken, his head snapping back as he defended for the rest of the round. Usyk.

Round 7

A relatively quiet round featured a sharp one-two from Fury and a single left from Usyk. Draw.

Round 8

Usyk executed a successful one-two-hook combination, applying pressure while Fury struggled to hide his substantial target.

An accidental head clash thankfully resulted in no cuts.

Fury attempted a weak offensive, but Usyk merely smiled and shook his head in response. Usyk.

Round 9

With Fury tiring from the weight he bore, Usyk seized the opportunity and effectively “chopped” him down.

Fury was unable to evade or counter effectively.

He fell into Usyk’s game, which favored the fitter fighter. Usyk.

Round 10

Fury landed a rare uppercut and sought to target Usyk’s body by taking control of the center ring, but he still took a few shots in return.

Fury attempted to hold and lean on Usyk to sap his energy, only to receive a left to the cheek.

A powerful left from Usyk sent sweat flying from Fury’s head.

Fury responded with an uppercut, but Usyk’s pressure and striking turned out to be decisive. Usyk.

Round 11

These final rounds could determine the fight’s fate. Usyk stayed active while Fury threw an uppercut that barely grazed Usyk’s guard.

Fury walked into a series of quick combinations before absorbing two significant strikes, visibly draining the giant.

Usyk maintained his pressure, consistently jabbing and exchanging punches, while Fury looked exhausted under the burden of his weight. Usyk.

Round 12

Fury opened with urgency, realizing he needed at least a knockout, which allowed Usyk to counter effectively.

A combination of three straight punches landed on the Ukrainian star.

Despite Fury’s attempts to swing and adjust his drooping shorts, the fatigue Usyk had inflicted on him had taken its toll.

As some spectators booed and whistled, they exchanged blows in the final moments. Usyk.

SunSport’s scorecards: Usyk 118-112 Fury.
