OLEKSANDR USYK secured another controversial win over Tyson Fury to regain his heavyweight title.

Seven months following their previous split-decision fight, this time the judges delivered a unanimous score of 116-112 in favor of Usyk.

The Gypsy King exited the ring in a fury as promoter Frank Warren appeared taken aback by the results.

Here’s how SunSport’s Wally Downes assessed the bout…

Round 1

The rules seemed to mean little as Fury arrived at 11:15pm local time sporting a beard that would make Brian Blessed look tidy.

If his facial hair was surprising, we were even more taken aback by the size of his belly when the cameras caught him without his shirt in the locker room.

His red shorts were pulled so high that most of his stomach was concealed—had they been an inch higher, that 20st giant could have tucked his nipples in there too.

Fury tried to intimidate Usyk during the final face-off, bulging his eyes like a monster, yet the champion remained completely unaffected.

They exchanged jabs and worked with their lead hands, with Usyk landing left hands to Fury’s shaking midsection and then landing a headshot to take the opening round. Usyk.

Round 2

Usyk began the round with a scoring one-two to the head before returning to the body, landing lefts that even made Fury stumble.

However, the Gypsy King came back with a three-punch combination followed by a solid right hand to take the round.

Yet, there were no signs of the body shots and uppercuts that had earned Fury victories in the middle rounds of their last fight. Fury

Round 3

Usyk scored with three jabs to the body and left hands to the head.

Fury struggled with the pressure, landing only a small check hook and even attempting a southpaw stance.

But all his threats to skin and cook the “bog-eyed rat” or “ugly rabbit” turned out to be empty. Usyk.

Round 4

Fury started strong with a chopping right hand.

Nevertheless, Usyk countered with two impressive left hands that connected.

Fury then landed a significant right hand that pushed Usyk back.

The uppercut returned, slicing through Usyk’s guard. Draw.

Round 5

Fury gained immediate control with a right hand to start the round.

Then the Brit received a warning for rabbit punches as he attempted to bully the champion.

Usyk took a lead left uppercut and began absorbing body shots, prompting him to retreat and recover. Fury.

Round 6

Fury found himself in trouble as his hefty frame began to sweat, while Usyk focused on targeting it with powerful left punches.

He then switched to headhunting, landing a shot to Fury’s head.

The Morecambe giant appeared buzzed and concerned, with his head rocking back. He spent the rest of the round on the defensive. Usyk.

Round 7

A quieter round featured a sharp Fury one-two and a single left from Usyk. Draw.

Round 8

A one-two-hook combination worked well for Usyk as he ramped up the pressure on Fury, who attempted to hide his large target.

Fortunately, an accidental head clash resulted in no cuts.

Fury launched a weak attack, but Usyk responded with a smile and a shake of his head. Usyk.

Round 9

Fury began to tire under the weight, while Usyk eagerly kept landing shots.

He was too heavy to evade or dance effectively.

Fury was playing right into the hands of the ultra-fit Usyk. Usyk.

Round 10

Fury managed to connect with a rare uppercut and aimed for Usyk’s body. He controlled the center of the ring but soon took a couple of punches.

Fury tried to hold and lean to wear down Usyk but was met with a left to the cheek for his troubles.

A powerful left from Usyk landed, sending sweat flying from Fury’s head.

Fury countered with an uppercut but fell short as Usyk’s pressure and strikes captured the round. Usyk.

Round 11

These could be pivotal rounds. Usyk was more active, while Fury’s uppercut only grazed Usyk’s guard.

Fury walked into a quick combination but then absorbed two solid punches. The energy was dissipating from his massive frame.

Usyk was relentless, moving, prodding, and punching, while Fury, weighing in at 20st, looked visibly exhausted. Usyk.

Round 12

Fury began like a man who knew he needed a knockout, which allowed Usyk to counter effectively.

A combination of three straight punches landed for the Ukrainian star.

Despite Fury’s ongoing swings and efforts to pull his shorts up due to excessive sweat, they traded blows amid a section of the crowd booing and whistling during the final ten seconds. Usyk.

SunSport’s scorecards: Usyk 118-112 Fury.
