FASOL (2.30 Ascot, nap)
Champion jockey Harry Cobden has chosen to ride this son of Galileo over his stablemate Golden Move, who also has a chance at an each-way bet. My pick seems well-prepared to excel over hurdles after a close finish at Sandown previously. The handicapper has applied a reasonable 2lb weight increase, and this good ground is expected to enhance his performance. Should he match his last outing, victory is within reach.
IRISH HILL (12.45 Ascot, nb)
With his six years of experience, he was in winning form at Plumpton two runs back before a close second-place finish at Wincanton. He finishes strongly over this distance and has a history of winning at Ascot.
IBERICO LORD (1.55 Ascot, treble).
This horse is poised to take the lead for Nicky Henderson. He has demonstrated talent as a handicapper over hurdles, with victories in the Greatwood and Betfair Hurdle. He showed this ability by winning on his chase debut at Kempton last month. Although he made a few minor errors, he still achieved a convincing victory. There’s still a lot more potential to unlock.
DAZZLELIKETHIS (12.20 Uttoxeter, Lucky 15)
She caught my eye after a promising second place on debut at Carlisle a month ago. Although she made one mistake as the pace picked up, she finished very well. She’s likely to have learned a lot from that experience, and the increase in distance should suit her.
