The announcement of the winners for The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024 is set to take place online on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, during a live-streamed event originating from Doha, Qatar.
The evening prior to the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024™, showcasing Real Madrid C.F. against CF Pachuca, will also mark the second anniversary of the unforgettable FIFA World Cup™ final. During a gala dinner at the prestigious Aspire Academy, the exceptional players, coaches, and fans of 2024 will be celebrated.
This remarkable dinner not only commemorates Aspire Academy’s 20-year anniversary but will also welcome several dignitaries, including the FIFA President, FIFA Council members, FIFA Legends, and various influential figures in the global football community, both locally and regionally.
The involvement of fans remains vital in determining award winners, influencing the outcomes for several accolades including The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, and The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper.
Winners for these awards are decided through a balanced voting mechanism that incorporates input from fans, current captains and coaches of all national teams (both men’s and women’s), and media representatives.
This year is notable as fans have also taken part in selecting The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11. Participants were able to choose from a pool of 77 nominated players to craft various tactical lineups, with final selections reflecting equal importance placed on fan votes and an expert panel’s input.
Voting for the newly launched FIFA Marta Award and the FIFA Puskás Award, which showcase the best goals in women’s and men’s football respectively, will be influenced by both fan votes and a panel of FIFA Legends. Meanwhile, the FIFA Fan Award will be entirely determined by fan voting, while the FIFA Fair Play Award will be awarded based on the judgment of an expert panel.
For more information about the voting processes and criteria for all the awards, please refer to the Rules of Allocation.
