CHELSEA player Marc Cucurella received a red card after the Premier League game against Brentford at Stamford Bridge.
At 26 years old, Cucurella was pivotal in the Blues’ 2-1 triumph over the Bees, netting the first goal before Nicolas Jackson secured the win, with Bryan Mbeumo adding a late goal for the home side.
However, the full-back was shown a second yellow card after the match concluded for a clash with Kevin Schade when the Chelsea player pushed his opponent.
Schade also received a caution for the incident from the referee.
The Premier League responded, indicating that both players faced disciplinary actions for “demonstrating an aggressive demeanor.”
The statement read: “The referee issued a second yellow card to Cucurella for showing an aggressive attitude. Schade was similarly cautioned for the same behavior.”
This means the Spain international will be unavailable for the Premier League encounter against Everton at Goodison Park this Sunday.
Manager Enzo Maresca noted that the red card pointed out areas where Chelsea needs to “improve.”
After the match, he remarked: “I didn’t see the second yellow card. The referee indicated it was for bad behavior. There are aspects we can refine.”
This incident marks the second consecutive league game where Cucurella has made headlines.

The defender garnered a lot of attention last week in the London derby against Tottenham.
The former Brighton player made critical mistakes that contributed to both of Spurs’ initial goals, stumbling during the lead-up.

CHELSEA closed the gap at the top of the league with a 2-1 win in the West London derby against Brentford.
Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson contributed to the scoreboard for the Blues, leaving them only two points behind Liverpool.
Here’s how SunSport’s Andy Dillon evaluated the performances of the Chelsea players…
Robert Sanchez – 7
Occasionally error-prone but capable of delivering vital saves; he made several important stops this evening. One of his more praiseworthy outings.
Malo Gusto – 7
Often impressive, displaying both physical and mental strength for the team. Chelsea hardly miss captain Reece James at present.
Levi Colwill – 7
Made a vital block to thwart Damsgaard reminiscent of Chelsea legend John Terry. A solid performance overall.
Tosin Adarabioyo – 6
A formidable presence, especially after playing in extremely cold conditions in Kazakhstan on Thursday. With Badiashile and Fofana injured, he performed commendably.
Marc Cucurella – 4
Produced a fine run and header for the opening goal but marred his contributions with poor sportsmanship.
He then recklessly accumulated two yellow cards within moments, leading to his dismissal.
Moises Caicedo – 8
Exhibited precise tackling and effectively controlled the midfield. Chelsea dominated possession largely due to his influence.
Enzo Fernandez – 7
Appeared composed and delivered several accurate through balls linking midfield to attack.
Noni Madueke – 6
Sent a superb left-footed cross that facilitated Cucurella’s goal. Displayed energy but was caught out defensively at times.
Cole Palmer – 6
Had a powerful shot saved in the first half but otherwise had a quiet evening.
Jadon Sancho – 6
Gradually reestablishing his place in the starting lineup after a prior dip in form.
Showed quick footwork in the second half that nearly led to a decisive goal.
Nicolas Jackson – 7
Executed an excellent finish that became the winning goal, although he squandered a clear chance in the first half.
A critical strike that keeps Chelsea on their winning trajectory.

Christopher Nkunku (for Jackson, 83 mins) – 5
Had little time to affect the game; Chelsea faced pressure in the closing moments.
This incident prompted Cucurella to rush to the bench and switch out his boots, a decision that proved beneficial as he played a crucial part in helping the West Londoners clinch a dramatic 4-3 win.
The Spaniard took the situation in stride, discarding his faulty Puma boots and posting a photo on social media as an apology to the fans.
The football boots were slated for release by the sportswear brand the following day.
Curiously, they bore an inscription that read: “This boot might be leaked. We’re used to it. Don’t worry. Stay tuned.”
This appeared to be a marketing blunder, but Puma responded inventively.
In a new promotional post on social media, Cucurella is pictured wearing the boots next to a caution wet floor sign.
Puma captioned the image: “It’s not how you slip, it’s how you bounce back.”
The post features images of the wet floor sign situated in front of a goal, at the entrance of a Puma store, at a bus stop, and on a street in West London.
