The management team at Wolves has quickly launched their search for a new head coach, with Vitor Pereira as a prominent candidate.

The Premier League club is already in talks to bring Pereira to the team, as reported by The Athletic.

Pereira is currently managing Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League, but Wolves are prepared to pay his release clause to lure him to the Premier League.

Sources indicate that finalizing personal terms should be straightforward, as Pereira is keen on making the move.

His reputation for discipline and “emotional intelligence” are among the qualities that attract Wolves.

Under O’Neil, the team achieved only two wins in 16 Premier League matches this season, with the last two defeats leading to tensions between players and opponents.

Pereira would bring a wealth of experience to Molineux, having managed 13 different clubs throughout his career.

He has won six titles, including two with Porto, as well as league titles in Greece and China with Olympiacos and Shanghai SIPG.

Pereira took charge of Al-Shabab in February, leading them to an eighth-place finish.

He has continued to find success this season, currently holding sixth place in the league with seven wins in 13 matches.

Wolves players and staff experienced clashes following the match

After leaving Fenerbahce in December 2021, Pereira was considered a top candidate for the Everton position, but a fan protest with graffiti stating: ‘Pereira out, Frank [Lampard] In’ disrupted those plans.
