RUSS BRAY, a darts referee, emphasizes that MICHAEL VAN GERWEN has yet to fully unleash his potential given his outstanding skill set.

The Green Machine is a multi-time world champion, having amassed numerous titles in the darting world.

Despite his remarkable success, Bray is convinced that Van Gerwen’s exceptional abilities merit even more honors.

Ladbrokes ambassador Bray commented, as reported by the Express: “In my opinion, Michael van Gerwen has not lived up to his full potential.

“Certainly, he has secured three world titles and numerous other accolades. Yet, I believe he could have achieved a significantly higher number. I’m not talking about just a few more victories; it’s a substantial increase.

“For example, he lost in the UK Open final a few years back to Andrew Gilding.

“I mean no disrespect to Gilding, but typically, Michael would emerge victorious in that scenario nine times out of ten. That’s another title that slipped through his fingers. It’s fair to state that Michael has underachieved.”

In addition to his three world championships, Van Gerwen has been a prominent player in the Premier League in recent years.

He claimed the Premier League title seven times from 2013 to 2023, facing off against the world’s best competitors.

The Dutch ace has also claimed six Grand Prix titles, three Grand Slams, and three World Matchplays.
