Nicolas Jover, the set-piece coach for ARSENAL, now has a unique MURAL showcased outside the Emirates.
However, it has faced criticism from fans after an artist finalized the black-and-white piece right before Monaco’s Champions League clash on Wednesday.
The eye-catching mural, situated in the Hornsey Road tunnel just outside the Emirates, has been painted ironically on the CORNER of an old brick wall.
A jubilant Jover, 43, is portrayed sitting next to the quarter-circle marking of a corner on the field, dressed in his Arsenal coaching gear.
A video shows a person carefully painting the mural while fans walked past.
Jover’s influence on Arsenal’s set-piece success is often underscored, echoing the recognition given to the club’s on-field stars.
He shares the iconic tunnel with Mikel Arteta, Declan Rice, David Raya, and William Saliba, each having their own celebrated artworks.
Since Jover’s arrival in 2021, Arsenal has achieved the highest number of goals from corners across all Premier League teams, making it clear why he deserves this tribute.
The Gunners’ corner tactics have become one of the season’s most surprising aspects, heavily influenced by Jover.
Arteta’s side recorded their league-leading eighth dead-ball goal of the season in a disappointing 1-1 tie against Fulham last Sunday.

With a total of 48 goals to their name, they are scoring once every 16.4 corners (a six percent conversion rate).
Arsenal has netted 23 GOALS from corner situations since the start of last season—eight more than any other club.
Jover, who originally hails from Germany but represents France, always seems to participate in the celebrations when Arsenal converts another set-piece.
Arsenal has even been likened to the ‘new Stoke City‘ by former stars like Dimitar Berbatov following their 2-0 win over Manchester United.
Additionally, Old Trafford icon Gary Neville has labeled Jover “the most bothersome person in football“.
Rival fans have quickly mocked the mural.
One stated: “Complete woke nonsense—what has happened to the Arsenal I once loved?”
Another lamented: “This ranks among the most embarrassing things I’ve seen in football, so it’s no surprise it’s Arsenal.”
A third remarked: “This is the most typical Arsenal experience I’ve ever had. It’s just tragic 😂😂.
A fourth quipped: “This is why everyone perceives Arsenal fans as a joke.”
A fifth commented: “This reeks of a small club mentality.”
Another wrote: “Arsenal fans are among the most tin-pot supporters in England; they never learn!”
Club legend David Seaman has also highlighted a banner displayed at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.
On the Seaman Says podcast, endorsed by Betway, he mentioned, “There’s a massive message on the wall – ‘set pieces win games’.
“It demonstrates the significant preparation that goes into it.”
How to prevent Arsenal from scoring at corners
Arsenal has proven to be a formidable force in scoring from corners.
Since the start of last season, the Gunners have scored 22 goals from corner situations—seven more than Manchester City, their nearest rival, and eight more than current league leaders Liverpool.
Two of these goals came against Manchester United, with Jurrien Timber and William Saliba scoring in the second half to secure a key victory for Mikel Arteta’s team in their chase of Arne Slot’s Reds.
Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka have excelled as providers, each contributing seven set-piece assists this season—more than any other player.
United legend Dimitar Berbatov jokingly remarked that Arsenal has become the new Stoke City of the Premier League—renowned for their prowess in exploiting set-pieces against larger clubs during Tony Pulis’s tenure.
