MOHAMED SALAH is reportedly nearing an agreement on a new contract with Liverpool.
The Egyptian winger’s current contract with the Reds, which he signed back in June 2017, is set to run out at the end of this season.
Salah, now 32, mentioned late last month that he had not yet been approached by the club regarding extending his stay at Merseyside.
However, it seems that the Reds’ management has now extended a new contract proposition to the Egyptian international.
This revelation comes from The Mirror, which reports that Salah is on the brink of finalizing a new two-year contract at Anfield.
Salah had reportedly sought a new three-year contract to guarantee his future with the club, while initially, the Reds were only willing to offer him a one-year extension.
Nevertheless, it is believed that both parties have reached a “compromise” on a new two-year deal.
Speculation regarding Salah’s forthcoming two-year agreement follows comments made by former Egyptian international Haytham Farouk, who asserted that the ex-Chelsea and Roma star had already signed a new contract.
Alongside a photo with Salah, he tweeted: “Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want.
“The Egyptian king reigns with his own decisions.”
