Statement Regarding Storm Darragh

Storm Darragh is actively crossing the Atlantic, leading the Met Office to issue a rare red ‘danger to life’ warning for certain regions of Wales, as well as Bristol and North Somerset.

The FAW released a statement emphasizing: “The Met Office has declared red, amber, and yellow weather warnings for the majority of Wales due to Storm Darragh, which is expected to bring severe winds and heavy rainfall, resulting in considerable disruptions and threats to life.

“Travel conditions will be hazardous, including journeys to and from football matches. Strong winds elevate the risk of injury, and the Met Office recommends remaining indoors whenever feasible.

“Clubs have been advised to inspect and secure any loose items around their premises, if it can be done safely, including bins, furniture, goalposts, and fencing.”

“Possible postponements for matches scheduled on Friday, December 6th, and Sunday, December 8th, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, following each league’s protocol.”
