Tank is preparing to face Lamont Roach on March 1, after a postponement from the original date set for this month.

If he emerges victorious, it could open the door for various new fight opportunities, including a potential rematch with Garcia.

During a press conference in Brooklyn, NY, held on Tuesday, USA, Davis alluded to his retirement plans before 2026, presenting an unexpected revelation.

Having become a big-name pay-per-view superstar throughout his career, Davis remarked: “After next year, I’m done with it.”

The perplexed moderator asked: “You’re done with it, care to elaborate?”

To which Davis responded: “Done with the sport.”

He elaborated: “After this year, I’m finished. I’m over it.”

“I have no interest in titles or any of that.”

“My priority is to secure my financial future and step away. I’m just exhausted. It’s beyond just boxing now, it encompasses everything. Plus, I have children.”

“I just welcomed a son. I don’t want to keep getting hit in the ring.”

“I’m likely to focus on growing my real estate investments, seeking to avoid the public eye.”

“All I desire is to earn a living and remain out of the limelight, that’s my only wish.”

Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh has expressed a strong interest in extending a lucrative offer for Davis to face Shakur Stevenson later this year.

A tempting deal to prolong his boxing career could motivate Davis to reconsider his decision and continue fighting into 2026.
