DARTS star Luke Humphries found himself in a rather tense discussion with snooker icon Shaun Murphy after claiming that scoring a nine-darter is more difficult than making a 147 maximum break.

Humphries and Murphy were featured athletes in Paddy Power’s Perfect Challenge.

Two darts players, two snooker players, and two golf professionals went head-to-head to determine which feat is the hardest: getting a hole-in-one, scoring a 147 break, or hitting a nine-darter?

Current world darts champion Humphries mentioned that for a newcomer, getting a 147 would be the hardest hurdle to overcome.

However, he maintained that for a seasoned player, hitting a nine-darter is the more challenging accomplishment.

The world No. 1 remarked: “If you gave someone a set of darts, a snooker cue, and a golf club, I believe they would land a hole-in-one first, followed by a nine-darter, and then the 147. That would be the toughest one.”

“Nonetheless, a professional knows all the angles in snooker.”

Former world snooker champion Murphy was heard laughing before responding, “I had no idea you were a comedian. A 147 is harder than a nine-darter.”

Humphries retorted, “What’s so funny about that? Did you listen to me? I said that as a pro, understanding the angles makes it look easy.”

“In terms of norms between frames and legs in darts, there are more 147s than nine-darters.”

Murphy then stated, “Well, that doesn’t make it easier.”

The awkward exchange ended when Humphries quickly replied, “I never said it was easier.”
