TEAM EUROPE partied exuberantly following their triumph in the Mosconi Cup.
Europe outperformed Team USA with a score of 11-6, clinching their fifth consecutive title in Florida.
Jayson Shaw achieved an impressive win against opposing captain Skyler Woodward, finishing with a flawless score of 5-0, enhancing the continent’s advantage to five points and kicking off their night at 10-5.
Fedor Gorst was able to earn back a point, but Francisco Sanchez Ruiz quickly followed by narrowly defeating Woodward 5-4, confirming the team’s victory.
After Ruiz pocketed the final ball, he and his teammates celebrated by dancing on the table to the rhythm of ‘Freed From Desire’ before a visibly disappointed US snooker crowd.
This victory marked a significant milestone for Shaw, as he secured the trophy during his debut as captain.
The Scot commented: “I would like to thank everyone who came out to support us.
“It has been a challenging experience, requiring significantly more effort this year. We trained extensively in preparation for this moment.
“It was a true pleasure to have them on my squad, and I look forward to the next challenge.”
Team USA captain Woodward recognized the skill of his rivals while also taking pride in his squad.
