The full-back has made three substitute appearances following his return against Ipswich Town, Bodo/Glimt, and Everton.

However, following the weekend, the England international has suffered yet another minor injury.

Despite his disappointment, the defender is committed to coming back even stronger to assist United.

“I’ve experienced numerous highs and lows, but this has undoubtedly been the most challenging period. I am truly devastated, and it’s incredibly difficult to accept this reality right now.

“I understand there will be fans feeling frustrated, angry, and let down, and I completely empathize. No one is feeling this more intensely than I am at this moment…

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Shaw has sustained a muscle injury and is expected to be out for several weeks.

This means that new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will not have the left-back available for the upcoming match against Arsenal.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face the Gunners on Wednesday at the Emirates in a crucial Premier League encounter.

Under Amorim, Manchester United remains unbeaten, securing two wins in his first three matches in charge.

Ruben Amorim: The ‘Mourinho 2.0’ who revived Sporting from ‘walking dead’ to Portuguese champions… he could reignite Manchester United

WHEN Ruben Amorim took the helm at Sporting Lisbon in March 2020, a club official compared their situation to the “walking dead,” writes Jordan Davies.

Hope and optimism were at an all-time low.

However, the Amorim effect was almost instantaneous, leading the Portuguese giants to their first league title in 19 years during the 2020/21 season, suffering just one defeat and conceding only 20 goals.

Since then, Sporting has claimed another league title in 2023/24 along with two League Cups, and they currently lead with nine victories from the first nine matches this season.

Though still young, Amorim has a clear vision for rebuilding and revitalizing struggling giants, combined with his captivating charisma and stable tactical approach.

The “walking dead” at Manchester United must be wishing for a similarly dramatic resurgence.

And they might just find that in one of Europe’s most talented young coaches, a man experienced in rejuvenating struggling clubs like Old Trafford.

Amorim has aspired to manage in the Premier League for a decade, inspired by his admiration for former United manager Jose Mourinho.

Endearingly referred to as ‘Mourinho 2.0’, Amorim spent a week as an intern with his coaching idol at United’s Carrington training complex in 2018, naming him his “reference point.”

While United shouldn’t anticipate a direct imitation of Mourinho, Amorim remarked: “Mourinho is one of a kind. There won’t be another Mourinho. Mourinho is unique.”

Nevertheless, comparisons are unavoidable.

Given the recent mismanagement of managerial roles at Old Trafford, this would represent a significant coup – a realistic challenge that their rivals in the Premier League won’t be ready for.
