Fans have mocked the newly updated Six Nations logo, comparing it to a “Mars bar advertisement.”

The prestigious tournament has replaced its former design, which featured a rugby ball along with the colors of the six involved nations, with a bold new emblem.

The new logo showcases a red rugby ball featuring the text “M6N” in orange.

Guinness and its iconic harp remain at the top as the principal sponsors.

Six Nations officials made this change to align the branding across the men’s competition as well as the women’s and Under-20 events.

The logos for the women’s and Under-20 events use “W6N” and “U6N” in the same design style.

However, many fans are displeased with the rebranding, describing it as lacking “any identity at all.”

Due to the color choices, numerous commenters humorously pointed out, “I thought this was an ad for Mars bars.”

Another user quipped, “It resembles a Mars bar design proposal.”

A third critic remarked, “Did a nine-year-old win a design contest for this?”

Others expressed their views, saying, “This is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.”

The Six Nations insisted that their decision was guided by “extensive research and discussions with fans” to “create a cohesive and versatile brand family.”

The organization elaborated: “By connecting its rich heritage with modern gameplay, presented through a unique and eye-catching new brand, the aim is to resonate with both new and existing fans as well as the players and unions involved in this celebrated Championship.

“Six Nations Rugby has crafted a brand identity that honors the traditions of its Men’s Championship while its vibrant visual designs mirror contemporary gameplay and the sentiments of fans regarding the sport.

“The modern brand is defined by its signature orange color scheme, embodying the excitement fans feel as they gather to celebrate the Six Nations at the conclusion of winter.”
