BOXING sensation Curmel Moton had his bout against Bryan Mercado canceled after a NOTABLE weight miss on Friday.
Moton, under the guidance of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, came in 15 POUNDS above the weight limit.
The 18-year-old boasts a 6-0 record since turning pro last September on the Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo undercard but was unable to extend that streak this weekend.
The young boxer from Utah was scheduled to face Mercado at a weight of 133 pounds in New Jersey, but instead weighed in at an astonishing 148.7 pounds.
This enormous weight miss evoked gasps and confusion at the weigh-in, marking it as one of the most considerable weight misses in boxing history.
Consequently, Moton was pulled from the fight card due to the significant weight discrepancy.
Fans took to social media to jest about the rising star’s substantial weight miss, some humorously attributing it to a hefty Thanksgiving feast.
One user quipped: “Damn, bro had one unforgettable Thanksgiving dinner.”
Another added: “He didn’t even try to make weight.”
A third joked: “Bro’s toughest opponent was cookies.”

After the incident, Moton provided clarification, citing issues with blood work as a reason for his inability to fight.
On Instagram, he expressed: “I want to apologize to everyone looking forward to seeing me fight in Jersey.
“I have been in talks with the commission regarding my bloodwork approval, and they have misplaced my blood samples in their system, making it challenging to sanction the fight.
“I was aware of this for three days, so there was no need to stress over making weight.
“For some reason, they still insisted on me weighing in, and they used that as the basis for canceling the fight.
“Nonetheless, I’ll be back in Japan on December 30th. Hope to see you all there.”
