Last season, he famously led Coventry to the FA Cup semi-final, where they were unfortunate to lose on penalties to United after making a comeback from being 3-0 down in the second half.
Following his exit, Coventry appointed former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
Lampard subsequently signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Championship club.
